Our puppy training programs are designed with dog behavior in mind. We understand how these critical puppy months can contribute to adult dog behavior problems, and more importantly, we know how to guide you in the other direction!
Puppy training with Heart of Texas Dog Training goes above and beyond typical puppy training classes and puppy socialization classes. We will cover all basic topics included in puppy classes, such as how to housebreak a puppy and how to teach basic obedience commands, but since we’ll be meeting in your home, we’ll also be able to customize this advice to your unique situation!
You’ll also learn valuable dog behavior knowledge including how to clearly communicate with your puppy to teach him/her new skills. We’ll also teach you how to read your puppy’s signals, and which ones you should be watching for (think housebreaking!).
Our puppy training programs also include one-on-one guidance and advice on a variety of puppy topics, including:
- Housebreaking – fast!
- How to stop inappropriate chewing
- Preventing nipping and mouthing
- Teaching basic obedience commands
- How to handle various puppy personalities, such as hyperactive, fearful, nervous, or “rammy” personalities!

Our puppy programs are offered as in-home dog training programs. This means we come to your home and customize ALL of our advice and instruction to your puppy, your family and your lifestyle.
Your relationship with your puppy starts from the moment you bring him/her home. Guidance from a professional dog trainer and dog behaviorist will make sure that you’re setting the foundation for a lifetime of mutual trust and respect. This makes training an adolescent and adult dog so much easier.
